“What are you doing, Abby?”
“Painting my fingernails. What does it look like?”
Her big sister frowned. “That’s not right.”
She shook her head. “We’re supposed to paint the tea set. That’s the game.”
Abby stuck out her tongue. “You paint the dumb tea set.” Her brush was loaded with blue paint. She dipped it in the yellow jar.
“Abby! I was using that!”
Abby shrugged. “I want a yellow thumb. I think I’d look fancy with yellow thumbs, don’t you?”
“Stop it. You’re ruining the paints.”
Abby squinted at her wet thumb. “Your paints are broke. It’s green.”
