Snapping Photos

When the tremors started, most people headed out onto the streets.

“Did you feel that?” I asked Dayana.

She nodded. “Sí. We should go.”

Our dinner sat on the café table as we grabbed our gear and followed the other patrons outside.

I pulled a Nikon out and started shooting. People were yelling. I smelled smoke. Car horns sang a head-splitting symphony. The sidewalk lurched from under my feet causing me to stumble.

A scuffle broke out. People pushed, started throwing punches.

We snapped away. Money shots of total chaos.

Then I remembered that the memory card was already full.
