Jessica’s business trip had some success. Despite problems leading up to it, it came together in the end. The client was pleased and committed. Her boss thanked her.
The flights home had been delayed. Her phone died. She’d left her charger at the hotel.
At the carousel, she waited. Her ride wasn’t there.
Jessica walked. She needed to stretch her legs a little after contorting into the plane.
Cars zipped down the highway. Jessica watched, sitting on the fence. It would be dark soon. Shaking her head, she drummed her fingers, then pulled her suitcase back to the taxi stand.
