Giggle

“Daddy?”

“Yes?”

“How much longer?”

Jared looked up with his big blue eyes.

“Not too long.”

“Why?”

“Why what?”

“Why not too long?”

“We’re almost done.”

Jared scrunched up his nose at that. Waited for not quite three seconds. “Why?”

“Why are we almost done?”

“Yeah.”

“Because Mommy is almost through, then we’ll all be done.”

Again the pause. The scrunchy face.

This time his dad beat him to it. “Why?” he asked Jared.

“Why why?”

“Why why zebra?”

Jared snorted. “What why why zebra!”

“X-ray why zebra! Bleh!”

They both laughed.

“What are you two giggling about?” Mom asked.
